TIDAL & Cambridge Audio – Lossless Streaming on our CXN & 851N Network Players

It’s something we’ve been working on for quite some time and we’re now ready to announce it. That’s right, we’re ecstatic to finally reveal that TIDAL integration is coming to our CXN and 851N network players. It would be a bit of an understatement to say that the lack of the platform on our award-winning streamers has been a frustration for many product owners, and even those looking to invest in a new network player. We’ve been listening to your comments and we’re extremely happy to be able to deliver it.

So what Is It?

For those of you unfamiliar with the platform, TIDAL is a subscription based streaming service with an emphasis on high fidelity audio. It’s praised highly for its lossless audio sound and impressive 50 million strong catalogue of songs. There are two tiers of subscription available; Premium which offers ad free streaming at 320kbps or HiFi which takes advantage of lossless FLAC and ALAC files to give you CD quality audio. Along with this come offerings of HD videos and exclusive content including playlists, articles and artist interviews.

How do I get it and when can I expect it?

If you’re a current owner of our award winning CXN or 851N network players, all you’ll need to do is update your unit as you would any regular firmware update. You’ll also need to keep your eyes peeled for an update to the Cambridge Connect App on your iOS and Android device. You can expect to see TIDAL on Cambridge streamers very early on in 2018.
